Data Governance & Compliance Manager

Nimbus has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional Data Governance & Compliance Manager to join our team. In this role, you will provide expertise in all aspects of data governance and compliance. You will advise, develop, and lead implementation of processes to ensure a continuous culture of compliance and provide the necessary oversight, governance, and direction to the discovery & development functions. The Manager is responsible for building processes, policies, and structure and technology to deliver high quality, FAIR data ultimately driving business intelligence. You will report to our Executive Director, Head of Information Systems.


In This Role, You Will:

  • Partner with key business stakeholders to design and implement a governance operation model across processes, systems, and technologies
  • Establish data management best practices to improve data flow and efficiency across relevant business functions
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to define system roles and responsibilities, access control and develop policies to support these systems
  • Enable continuous improvement of data management practices to ensure that data assets are FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable)
  • Develop enterprise data governance and management processes in adherence to relevant regulatory requirements
  • Lead training on enterprise governance and data management to ensure a continuous culture of compliance across the organization · Develop KPIs to demonstrate compliance with applicable policies and agreements
  • Serve as internal expert for all data governance matters
  • Ensure effective oversight & escalation of data integrity issues to mitigate potential risks and drive regulatory and industry requirement

These Qualifications Will Help This Role Be Successful

  • Bachelors degree in Scientific or Engineering field. Masters or PhD preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant data governance/management experience within the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology Industry
  • Excellent influencing skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with key business partners, IT and external service providers
  • Knowledge in wide range of R&D processes and related data management tools/applications
  • Ability to navigate, problem-solve, execute, and lead in a dynamic, fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Business and validation knowledge in regulated/Life Sciences industry desirable
  • Working knowledge of GxP compliance desirable
  • Experience within SOX regulated environment desirable
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills – communicates thoughts in a well-organized manner
  • Demonstrated success in leading projects and interacting with cross functional teams
  • Must be a methodical and detail-oriented individual
